well.. actually... zs4 uses the same skinning engine as for example fotoman, among others. and the above mentionned font is the only font that gives us pixel by pixel equivalency of the user interface on linux, osx AND windows.

it would mean throwing in the windows-font driver for the skinning engine (which exists) but due to font baseline issues among other things the zs4-classic-skin would indeed look murderous with a bill-gates style font.

i'll throw in that font driver in the next version, we are unlikely however, to come come up with a more beautifull, appealing or slick skin than the existing one which we deem represents our beautifull and appealing personalities so well.... :)

It grows on you after a while. It was little weird at first, but has become quite comfortable.  The banana is the other way around: it was cute at first, but I keep wondering if I've actually hit a button or not. If it has to be a banana, how about a slightly smaller one, maybe with a bit less curvature?

As of version 0.931 the system pointer is a bow which is straight. Hopefully its easier to use than the banana which may still be hanging around in the install program but is otherwise gone.
