Hi Paul. So you add the yuv/chroma key effect to your video track and you select the rectangular colour sample. What should happen is that the rectangle display should come up at the top and you should be able to see the results in the Media Mixer rectangle (left top). The view in the current tab normally does not show the results of an effect.

yep, it doesn't show in the media mixer...

It does the same for me. How on earth do you look at the finished result?

Ive been trying to do a tutorial on yuv/chroma as well, and it just wont preview!
can somebody tell me if it something to do with a steeing or something but just please!

i uninstalled the program, and redownloaded it, and it did start working, maybe you should try it....

Thak you for saying that, I just hope it works, then I can finally use alpha channel videos in Flash 8.

It still wont work! its such a dissapointment because it seems an amasing program but I cant do what I want to do with it... I better try downloading it from a different source because there coulde be missing files.

Did you get the latest version 0.954?

even though i got it to work, it saves into crazy formats, non compatable with Windows Movie Maker, as far as i know, it cant even save into AVI.  If the makers of this software would consider making it able to save into AVI, that would be awesome, as for now, i cant use it until it can....

Its a bit dumb, I know but from this site there is a converter fr these dodgy file types.

I have also defragmented my computer and cleaned it, but it still doesnt freakin works.

Windows Movie Maker does not accept video with alpha channels.
Its good I have Flash 8!

ok, i figured it out at least for my computer :-)

i was first trying to use *.wmv files, but they dont work, when i reinstalled the program, i was using *.avi files.....those work....

so basically,
WMV doesn't work, but AVI does!!!!!

Its not working, even when I used system restore, System Cleanup and Defragmentation, when I tried uninstalling it, most of the files, wouldnt unnstall or delete manually so I could reinstall it. I HAVE BEEN wasting a day just to get this thing working!
I AM REALLY DESPERATE TO GET THIS THING WORKING!
Its amazing value, as it is does Chroma Keying
 and warping and all the other cool stuff, but if its a problem with the software I would appreciate it if something was done, either by the creators or by somebody in this forum who knows what is going on.

I have just realised that the 0.954 version is a beta! great, thats just what I need :(

MAKE SURE THAT THE FILE YOU ARE TRYING TO USE IS *AVI (audio video interleaved)

It is an avi! but what difference should it make?

AVI files mainly differ in the Compression (Codec) that was used to compressed the contained video frames.

typically, I do two things to make videos "importable" usign ZS4.

• First, i convert whatever footage I have using the t@b media converter. I select Convert for ZS4 use before hitting the "encode" button.
• Second: When installing ZS4 on windows, the installer program offers a choice of AVI Codecs for use with ZS4 and 3rd party programs. I make sure that the "mjpg" codec is selected (installed) since that is what the media converter (above) converts to when one selects "Convert for Use with ZS4"

This will allow import of AVI to succeed (for me).

I used a tutorial avi file for crying out loud!

I have done everything recommended and yet this still wont work, not to mention the shortcut doesnt work, I cant do a stupid, simple chroma key, godness, something has gotta change with this, things have got to change.

patience, patience, patience...yes, you have to click on the shortcut a few times before it opens...just try, and try again, giving up will give you nothing...

Its not just that! thats just a minor detail! THE CHROMA KEYING DOESNT WORK!

ChaosSeven, I can sympathize with your frustration.  I too was having the same problem.  I considered the program useless and uninstalled it.

However, I had a change of heart and re-installed it, determined to get to the bottom of this.  As I was poking around, I decided to try a different filter: "rgb similarity".  That one seemed to work MUCH better.  It actually did what I exprected it to.  I selected a region of colors, and it became transparent.  It worked!

I had to play around with the settings to tweak it, but it looks good!  There is hope!  Try rgb similarity filter, and see if you have better results

Would the new version have a chance of the chroma keyng working? because chroma keying is easier, but thanks mindstorm because rgb similarity does work so does yuv. But how coulkd I uninstall it withoutfiles being left stuck on it until the hard drive is fully rebooted?

 Here it works great! And i see that the speed interface is quite improved.
I can't understand what files remain stuck, but is not uncommon for software files to be deleted after reboot.
Anywho, this version is great!
